SBI PO 2017 Mains Exam Analysis : Dear Aspirants, Today State bank of India has conducted the Online Mains Examination for the recruitment of Probationary officers in SBI and SBI PO is consider to be one of the toughest examination in India. The examination was scheduled to conducted in only 1 Shift.

As the SBI PPO Mains exam is over now, we are providing you the detailed analysis based on Subject and topic wise break down and also the questions asked in SBI PO 2017 Mains Examination held on 4th June 2017.

 

SBI PO 2017 Mains Exam Analysis

 

SBI PO Mains Examination Pattern : The SBI PO Mains exam  consist of Objective Test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. After that descriptive test of 50 marks will be conducted. The Objective Test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Data Analysis and Interpretation :  (Difficult)

Double pie chart based on Boats and Streams - 1 Set

Missing DI - 2 sets, one DI was based on Profit and Loss and the other was related to Time and Work.

Miscellaneous Topics : (Questions based on Simple Interest Boat & stream ,Compound Interest, Speed &Time, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Averages, Ages, Ratio etc.) - 5 Questions

 

English Language :  (Difficult)

Reading Comprehension - 2 Sets (10 Questions) [ based on German Economy]

Double Fillers - 4 Questions

Spotting Errors - 10 Questions

Jumbled Paragraph - pattern was like : first and last sentences were given. 

Phrase Replacements - 5 Question

 

General Awareness - Question asked in GA section were mostly based on Current Affairs from last 3-4 Months. Apart from that Static GK related to banking sector were also asked in this section. Overall GA was the easiest section when compare to other subjects in the SBI PO Mains Exam.

 Descriptive Test :

 Letter Topics asked in SBI PO Mains exam 2017 :

  • Letter based on thank you note to an author for his book on depression. 
  • Write a letter to your branch manager as you've deposited some amount but it is still not credited to your account.

Essay Topics :

  • Write an essay on the positive and negative impact of technology.

 

Conclusion : So, the overall Difficult Level of SBI PO Mains Examination 2017 is Difficult (Very Hard). Due to the Pattern Changes in some of the topics like Merging of Boat & Stream , Time & Work Questions with Data Interpretation, Candidates faced difficulty in solving questions and also the time limitation provided in each section adds more difficulty.

In reasoning section New pattern of Input Output Questions were also asked. Also the questions based on Puzzles is of hard level. This year the Easiest and most scoring section in SBI PO Mains exam is General/Economy/Banking Awareness. The level of question is very easy and based on current affairs and banking industry.
