The much awaited notification for SBI PO 2016-17 – State Bank of India Probationary officer recruitment 2016 has been released and the online examination for the same will be conducted in next month.
This year SBI will be recruiting Probationary officers for 2200 Post and it is the best opportunity for the candidates to take the selection in India’s largest and oldest Public sector bank. The Prelims Examination will be held on – 2,3,9 and 10 July 2016.
Mains Examination will be scheduled on July 31 – 2016

Salary details SBI Probationary officer - SBI PO salary and benefits is always the best and at the peak when compare to the other public sector bank emoluments. The basic pay which an individual can get is Rs. 27,620 and it will under the scale of Rs. 23,700-42,020. Also employee will gets extra benefits like DA, HRA/Lease rental, medical facilities and other perks.
An experienced officer will get a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 62,000 and to the maximum of 1 lakh/month depending on his/her efforts, promotions and place of posting. The In hand salary will be less as the figure given above.
Eligibility Criteria - There has not been any changes in the eligibility criteria for appearing in the recruitment of SBI PO when comparing it to the last year . But the candidates must read the notification first and check their eligibility before filling up the exam form. The eligibility condition for the above recruitment is given below :
Completed graduation degree from recognized university as on 31 August 2016
Age limit of the candidates will be not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on April 1, 2016. There has been an age relaxation for the candidates under OBC ( 3years ) and SC/ST Category ( 5 years )
Loan Defaulters will not be eligible to apply for SBI PO - If any candidate had taken any kind of loan and failed to repay the loan amount( not paying mothly installments ) will not be eligible to apply for this recruitment of probationary officer. Loans like home loan, education loan etc.
Number of Chances : State bank of India has implemented the limitation on number of chance a candidate can apply for the exam. According to the notification published :
General Candidate can appear in SBI PO Exam - 4 chances
OBC candidate can appear - 7 chances
For SC/ST candidates their is no kind of limitation
From the above given rules it implies that for example - A general candidate who had already appeared in previous 4 recruitment's of SBI PO will not be eligible this year to appear in the examination.
Same rule is applied to OBC Candidates, they have 7 chances to appear in SBI PO recruitment while SC/ST candidates can apply any number of times, their is no limitation.
The Number of Attempts in SBI PO will be counted from the last examination that is held on April 18, 2010
Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern :
State Bank of India has conducting Online Examination in Two Phase - Preliminary and Mains Examination. Candidates who qualify prelims exam will be called for Mains Examination.
After that Shortlisted Candidates from Mains exam will go through the Interview phase and Group discussion.
Online Preliminary Examination will be held in July 2016.

About Mains Examination - The candidates who clears the prelims examination will be called for Mains Examination which consist of 5 sections of 200 marks.
Descriptive test will be of 50 Marks.
Sectional time limit is also present in the main exam which means you have to complete the particular section in the given allocated time. Immediately after the mains exam, candidates have to take the descriptive test which is also conducted in online mode, the essay and letter will be type with the help of computer keyboard.
The final merit list will be made on the basis of marks secured by the combined in Mains Exam and Interview+GD.
Application fee and Registration : General and OBC Candidates have to pay Rs. 600 to apply and register for the SBI PO Examination while SC/St candidates have to pay Rs. 100. Application form will only be filled through online mode.
