  1. Derogator – intended to make a person or thing seem of little importance or value

  2. Capacious – more than adequate or average in capacity

  3. Browbeat – intimidate (someone), typically into doing something, with stern or abusive words

  4. Pretext – a reason given in justification of a course of action that is not the real reason

  5. Apprehension – anxiety or fear that something bad or unpleasant will happen

  6. Carpin – marked by or inclined to querulous and often perverse criticism

  7. Ludicrous – causing or intended to cause laughter

  8. Scandalising – shock or horrify (someone) by a real or imagined violation of propriety or morality

  9. Paradigm – a typical example or pattern of something; a pattern or model

  10. Castigate — to criticize (someone) severely or angrily especially for personal failings

  11. Turpitude – a sinking to a state of low moral standards and behavior

  12. Scrutinised – examine or inspect closely and thoroughly

  13. Revitalisation – bringing again into activity and prominence

  14. Abstemious – not eating and drinking too much

  15. Formidable – inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense, or capable
